What you can expect
Expert help and support with all areas of infant feeding with both commonplace and complex issues – breastfeeding/chestfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, concerns with low milk supply, nipple pain, positioning and attachment difficulties, lip and tongue ties, reflux, colic, relactation, weaning, queries regarding medication compatibilities, feeding multiples, disabilities.
EXPERIENCE
I have been caring for new parents and babies for over 10 years, working within the NHS – in hospital, birth centre and community settings. As a member of the infant feeding team in the local NHS Trust I have dealt with complex cases and worked to maintain the Trust’s UNICEF Baby Friendly status.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
I am here for you, your baby, your partner and those closest to you. It takes a village to raise a child and it helps if everyone is on the same page. I can act as an advocate for you, providing professional, up-to-date information for you to share with your baby’s loved ones and caregivers. Reaching your breastfeeding goals can be a team effort and is much easier if everyone works together.
SUPPORT FOR ALL FORMS OF FEEDING
As well as supporting breastfeeding/chestfeeding, I can empower you with the knowledge you need to bottle feed your baby the safest possible way, if that is what is needed in your situation. I offer a judgement-free, supportive service based on information giving and current research. I can also advise on alternative feeding methods if a breastfed baby needs to be supplemented.
INCLUSIVE
I pledge to accept, respect, and include people of ALL abilities, races, sexualities and genders and to work on raising my awareness of issues faced by marginalised groups. I will dedicate myself to actively listen to each person’s story. I promise to learn from and embrace differences among identities. I will recognize commonalities and shared experiences. I will try to use inclusive language and will be open to learning. I promise to educate others to foster an inclusive community that treats every person with dignity and respect.

TRAINING
Raise awareness amongst staff members that breastfeeding/chestfeeding is protected by law and avoid discrimination against colleagues and customers. Fulfil your company’s legal responsibilities. Improve understanding about the physiology and psychology of breastfeeding to reduce intolerance at work.
REDUCING THE GENDER PAY GAP
Act to reduce the ‘motherhood penalty’ by supporting women to fulfil both family and work responsibilities and to continue to become highly
effective and motivated employees and leaders. Add a lactation support program to your employee benefits package while improving workplace flexibility and encouraging the uptake of Shared Parental Leave. Companies which have high gender diversity at board level are likely to financially outperform those which do not.
